Navy Velvet Dress

Happy Monday everyone - hope everyone had a wonderful weekend or enjoying their extra day off with Family Day!

As I was trying out different outfits for Valentine's Day. This was one of the outfits I came across. Instead of sticking to the traditional pinks, whites and reds, I went with darker colours this year (just to change it up a little)!

Here I have picked out one of the more rare items from my closet - a velvet navy blue cut out dress (one of the very few velvet pieces in my closet). While the navy blue keeps the outfit elegant, the cut out of the dress gives a little sexiness to it.

I have been loving my arm accessories for the past half year. Since I don't get to dress up on a regular basis, I just had to add that to my outfit! In addition to the arm bracelet, I have added my recent favourite statement necklace to the outfit to give it that bold touch. And finally, I finished this outfit off with a pair of pearl earrings to complement the elegance of the dress.

The Modern Pocahontas

February is already here, who else feels that January went by a little too quick? Since the colours red and pink are everywhere during the month of February, I thought, why not start my first post of the month with that colour theme!

I wanted to keep this outfit simple yet elegant, so I have decided to keep the entire outfit with one tone while adding accessories to enhance the look.

Here, I am wearing a tube dress with a sweetheart neckline. The top portion of the dress has this satin texture to it, giving it that elegant touch to the outfit while the ruffles at bottom gives it a girly touch.

When an outfit is in one single colour, it is the perfect time to play with textures by adding accessories to it. I added a flower headband to enhance that girly/elegant look to the outfit, at the same time bringing attention back up. Because my arms and neck areas are so bare, I added my set of pearl arm bracelet and necklace to add a little more texture to the outfit. And finally, I have finished my outfit with a pair of nude heels.
